Pearson Airport Fire Station

The GTAA Fire and Emergency Services are proving to be a very popular tour event for members of the YYZ Airport Watch. Sunday July 15 was our groups second visit in as many years to Firehall 2. As with the previous tour, the crews of station 2 had the equipment at the ready and on display for all to see. Of particular interest this time around was the GTAA's acquisition of two new apparatus. The Osh Kosh "Strikers" which are painted in a red and white scheme are the latest additions to the airport fire department. The Strikers have a dual nozzle system located at the front end of the vehicle. The nozzles can be set for an automatic sweeping pattern allowing the operator to assist with other duties. Needless to say these new trucks are an impressive addition to the fleet.

Below are some images that capture the sights of the tour. Be sure to have a look at last years tour journal for a more in depth look at the GTAA Fire & Emergency Services (click here).

The Airport Watch committee would like to thank the following for their help and assistance in making this another memorable tour.
